Date:

NEW DELHI: The Cyber Cell of the Crime Branch has demonstrated exceptional dedication and perseverance in successfully resolving a kidnapping case involving a minor girl in the Narela area of the Outer-North District. The case, registered under FIR No. 835/2024, U/s 137(2) BNS, PS Narela, Delhi, resulted in the safe rescue of the 16-year-old victim.

The incident was reported to the Narela Police Station on 03.12.24, with the complainant reporting that his 16-year-old sister had been missing since 03.02.2024. Recognizing the gravity of the situation, a case was promptly registered at PS Narela, Delhi. Subsequently, a reward of Rs. 20,000/- was announced by the Commissioner of Police on 17.03.2025 for any information leading to the recovery of the missing girl.

A specialized team from the Cyber Cell, Crime Branch, under the leadership of Inspector Sandeep Singh and the supervision of ACP Pawan Kumar, was assigned the task of locating and rescuing the minor girl. Through meticulous analysis of CCTV footage, the team determined that the girl had boarded a train from New Delhi Railway Station bound for Jammu & Kashmir. Employing a combination of technical and manual investigative methods, the team received a crucial tip-off on 21.03.2025 indicating that the girl was staying near the Taj Mahal in Agra. Acting swiftly on this information, a raid was conducted in Agra, resulting in the successful recovery of the victim.

Further investigation revealed that the victim had been influenced by a man from her neighborhood, who had previously attended the same school as her. Under the influence of Bollywood movies, the man persuaded her to elope with him, leading them on a journey to Jammu & Kashmir and then Mumbai. Eventually, they became disillusioned with their situation.
