GTB Hospital Gets 10-Bed ICU & Advanced Endoscopy Unit; Delhi’s Health Infra Sees Big Leap

Date:

New Delhi: A major upgrade in public healthcare infrastructure was unveiled at Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital (GTB Hospital) with the inauguration of a new 10-bed Medical ICU, the launch of a GI HD Video Endoscopy Suite, and the rollout of an Integrated AYUSH Stress Management Programme.

Officials described the development as more than an expansion of facilities, calling it a comprehensive strengthening of the healthcare system—from advanced treatment to preventive wellness.

Over the past year, the Delhi Government has implemented wide-ranging reforms in the health sector. Modern infrastructure projects are underway, new OPD blocks are being constructed, and flagship schemes such as Ayushman Bharat and the Vay Vandana Yojana have been rolled out to expand health coverage.

Additionally, Arogya Mandir centres have been established to provide free and quality healthcare services closer to residential areas, improving accessibility for citizens.

The Chief Minister stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a strong and citizen-centric public health system has been developed within just one year. She emphasized that the government’s long-term objective is to position Delhi as the health capital of India.

The event was attended by Member of Parliament Manoj Tiwari, Cabinet Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh, MLA Sanjay Goyal and District President Master Vinod, among other dignitaries. Officials reiterated that this marks only the beginning of a broader transformation in Delhi’s healthcare ecosystem.
