Sharing details of the review meeting on X, the Delhi LG said the move aims to protect and revive Delhi’s rapidly deteriorating aquatic assets through a time-bound action plan.

According to the roadmap presented by the DDA:

  • 6 water bodies will be restored within the next 30 days
  • 48 water bodies will be completed within 60 days
  • The remaining 23 water bodies will be revived within 90 days

Sandhu said the restoration drive has been initiated following his directions to ensure swift implementation of conservation measures during the summer months.

The Lieutenant Governor also reviewed several major developmental initiatives focused on transforming Delhi’s sub-cities, particularly Dwarka, Rohini and Narela.

Officials discussed infrastructure upgrades, urban planning measures and projects aimed at improving civic amenities and planned urban expansion in these regions.

The Delhi LG instructed officials to ensure immediate execution of all approved projects and maintain strict adherence to committed timelines.

The large-scale restoration of water bodies is expected to improve groundwater recharge, ecological sustainability and local environmental conditions across the capital.
