Emails Claiming ‘Khalistan’ Angle Spark Bomb Scare in Delhi Schools, Police on High Alert

Date:

New Delhi: Several schools in Delhi received bomb threat emails on Monday morning, triggering heightened security measures and large-scale search operations by the police and emergency services. The threatening emails reportedly began arriving as schools opened for the day, prompting immediate action from school administrations and law-enforcement agencies.

Following the alerts, students were evacuated from classrooms and moved to open grounds as a precautionary measure. Delhi Police, along with bomb disposal squads, dog squads, fire tenders, and ambulance services, were deployed across affected campuses to conduct thorough checks and ensure the safety of children and staff.

According to officials, the emails contained alarming language and references to explosions, leading authorities to treat the threats with utmost seriousness. Multiple schools across different parts of the capital, including institutions in Rohini, Delhi Cantonment, Srinivaspuri, INA, NFC, and Sadiq Nagar, were placed under security cover as search operations continued.

Police sources said no suspicious objects had been found at the locations cleared so far, but checks were ongoing at all identified schools. Authorities emphasised that standard operating procedures were being followed to prevent panic and ensure the well-being of students, especially as many schools are currently in the middle of examinations and practical assessments.

Officials also noted that Delhi has witnessed a rise in hoax bomb threats targeting schools over the past two years. While several such cases have previously led to arrests, the source and intent behind the latest emails are still under investigation. Cyber teams have been engaged to trace the origin of the messages.

Schools have been advised to resume normal activities only after receiving official clearance from the police. Meanwhile, parents have been urged not to panic, as authorities continue to monitor the situation closely and maintain security across all affected institutions.
