NEW DELHI: The Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) delegation, led by Delhi Praant Mantree Surendra Gupta, conducted an inspection of Humayun’s Tomb with the purpose of delving into the historical contexts of Delhi.

After the inspection, Gupta expressed, “We are delving into the historical contexts of Delhi to analyze the lands allocated to various rulers throughout different eras and their contributions.”

He also questioned why only certain historical figures are associated with Delhi’s history, pointing out the lack of preservation for Anandpal Tomar, whose rule spanned 300 years.

Gupta emphasized that the inspection is purely for historical study and that the findings will be presented to the central government.

Regarding the controversy surrounding the renaming of tombs, Mr. Gupta clarified that while tomb names cannot be altered, he believes roads should be named after Hindu heroes.

The Praant Mantree dismissed attempts by the opposition to politicize the issue, emphasizing that the study aims to shed light on historical truths.

The delegation announced plans to conduct a similar inspection of Safdarjung’s Tomb in the near future.
