New Delhi: Extremely heavy rainfall was recorded at isolated places in East Madhya Pradesh during the 24-hour period ending at 8.30 AM on August 27, the India Meteorological Department said.
IMD released the rainfall observations through a post on its official X account. “Extremely heavy rainfall was observed at isolated places over East Madhya Pradesh,” the weather department stated.
Very heavy rainfall was recorded over East Uttar Pradesh, West Madhya Pradesh and West Uttar Pradesh during the same period.
IMD also reported heavy rainfall over the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Bihar, East Rajasthan and Gangetic West Bengal. Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Odisha and Kerala also recorded heavy rainfall, according to the post. The observations cover rainfall recorded between 8.30 AM on August 26 and 8.30 AM on August 27.
