New Delhi: Delhi minister Parvesh Sahib Singh has warned that negligence leading to waterlogging in areas administered by the New Delhi Municipal Council will not be tolerated.
Singh disclosed the directions issued during an NDMC meeting through a post on his official X account. “Waterlogging in NDMC areas due to negligence will not be tolerated,” the minister stated in the post.
He said strict directions had been issued to initiate action against those concerned if waterlogging occurred again. The warning follows waterlogging reported in parts of the NDMC area during recent rainfall.
NDMC Chairman Manoj Kumar Dwivedi had earlier apologised to residents who faced difficulties because of waterlogging on August 25. He said that although accumulated water was generally cleared within 15 to 20 minutes, the council encountered difficulties at three or four locations despite its efforts.
Singh’s post did not identify the officials or departments that could face action or specify the administrative measures to be taken in the event of renewed waterlogging.
Four photographs of the NDMC meeting were shared with the X post.
