IMD Warns of Extremely Heavy Rainfall in Parts of Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh

New Delhi: The India Meteorological Department has warned of extremely heavy rainfall at isolated places in southwest Uttar Pradesh and northwest Madhya Pradesh on August 26.

The forecast is linked to a low-pressure area positioned over southern Uttar Pradesh and adjoining northeastern Madhya Pradesh, according to IMD’s daily weather briefing.

“Isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely over Uttar Pradesh and west Madhya Pradesh, with isolated extremely heavy rainfall over southwest Uttar Pradesh and northwest Madhya Pradesh on August 26,” IMD said in a post on X.

Residents and local administrations in vulnerable areas should monitor official weather warnings and advisories. IMD’s post did not provide district-specific impact information in the accompanying text.
