New Delhi: Delhi Police has cracked the sensational Mungeshpur murder case, arresting all three accused after an extensive multi-state search operation spanning Delhi, Mumbai, and Haridwar.

On March 31, 2026, police at PS Bawana received information about a decomposed body lying in an open field. A team immediately reached the spot and found the body of a male, later identified as Pradeep, a resident of Village Occhandi and a known bad character of the police station, by his brother Anil.

Investigation revealed that on March 29, Pradeep had gone to a liquor shop with three associates. The group later moved to the Mungeshpur area to consume alcohol. Around 10:00 PM, Pradeep called his wife, informing her that he was near Sohti–Kutubgarh Road and that his scooty had developed a puncture. Soon after, his phone was switched off.

Following repeated unsuccessful attempts to trace him, his wife filed a missing report on March 31. The recovered body was later confirmed to be Pradeep, leading to the registration of FIR No. 165/2026 under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

Under the leadership of senior officers, a dedicated police team was formed and launched a coordinated operation to track down the accused. Investigators found that the suspects were constantly changing locations and using phones of passersby to evade detection.

On April 3, one of the accused contacted his brother using a borrowed phone, which was traced near Gateway of India, Mumbai. A police team was immediately dispatched.

On April 5, another call was traced to Haridwar Railway Station, prompting another team to follow the trail.

Finally, on April 7, a fresh location was traced near Badli Railway Station. CCTV footage and local intelligence indicated that the accused had moved towards Narela Railway Station. Acting swiftly, police teams reached the location and apprehended all three accused after a thorough search operation.

Accused Details:
The arrested individuals have been identified as Indrajeet alias Sussa (33), Sagar (26), and Monty (24), all residents of Occhandi village. Police confirmed that Indrajeet had prior involvement in a 2019 murder case registered at PS Bawana.

Recovery:
Police recovered the murder weapon, a brick, from agricultural fields in Mungeshpur. The scooty used in the crime was also recovered from Panipat based on the accused’s disclosure.

The operation was conceptualized after a month-long intelligence-gathering exercise conducted in coordination with the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) under the Ministry of Home Affairs. Investigators mapped cybercrime hotspots, analyzed mule bank accounts, traced suspicious financial transactions, and correlated digital trails to identify key operatives and networks.

Officials said the operation has delivered significant breakthroughs, exposing the scale and structure of cyber fraud modules operating across multiple states.

Key Outcomes of Operation CyHawk 4.0:
• Over 8,371 suspects were subjected to detailed interrogation.
• Legal action was initiated against 1,429 individuals, including arrests and apprehensions.
• A total of 2,203 statutory notices were issued to suspects linked to backward networks of cyber fraud operations.
• As many as 499 new FIRs were registered, while 324 previously pending cases were successfully worked out.
• Around 3,564 complaints from the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal (NCRP) were linked to major investigative breakthroughs.
• Fraud amount exceeding ₹520 crore was uncovered during the operation.

The crackdown highlights the increasing sophistication of cybercrime networks and the coordinated efforts of law enforcement agencies to counter digital financial fraud. Authorities have reiterated their commitment to strengthening cyber surveillance and urged citizens to remain vigilant while engaging in online financial transactions.

New Delhi: In a swift and decisive operation, the Delhi Police of Outer-North District has solved a sensational attempt to murder case within an hour of the incident, apprehending three juveniles in conflict with law (CCLs).

The Incident:
On April 7, 2026, at around 8:08 PM, a PCR call reporting a stabbing incident was received at PS Bhalswa Dairy. The victim, identified as Amit (18), a resident of SSN Colony, Bhalswa Dairy, was admitted to BJRM Hospital by his brother with multiple stab injuries. He was later referred to LNJP Hospital for further treatment.

According to police, the victim sustained several sharp weapon injuries on his hand, stomach, and back, with back injuries inflicted while he was attempting to escape. Based on the complaint, FIR No. 174/2026 was registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

Police Action & Investigation:
Under the leadership of Joint Commissioner of Police Vijay Singh and supervision of DCP Hareshwar Swami, a dedicated team led by Inspector Surender Singh Yadav was formed. The team acted swiftly using local intelligence inputs and technical tracking to identify and apprehend the accused within an hour.

The three accused, all juveniles aged between 15 and 16, were tracked and taken into custody. Two knives used in the crime were also recovered from their possession.

Motive Revealed:
During interrogation, the juveniles confessed to the crime, stating that they were previously friends with the victim. However, due to a fallout around four months ago and a prior physical altercation, they developed enmity.

On April 7, around 7:00 PM, they located Amit near Bajrang Chowk, Bhalswa Dairy, and attacked him with knives when he tried to flee, inflicting multiple injuries.

Further Action:
All three juveniles have been apprehended as per legal procedures and produced before the competent authority. Further investigation in the case is ongoing.

The Delhi Police has reiterated its commitment to swift action and maintaining law and order in the city.

Emphasising quality in infrastructure development, the Chief Minister instructed that experienced companies be assigned road construction and repair works, with clear accountability mechanisms in place.

Officials have been directed to closely monitor all ongoing works and ensure their completion within stipulated timelines, reinforcing the government’s commitment to improving civic services in Delhi.

New Delhi: In a major relief for lakhs of residents, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has announced a fast-track plan to regularise unauthorized colonies, bringing legal ownership rights and long-awaited development to nearly 50 lakh people living in such areas.

Highlighting unauthorized colonies as one of Delhi’s biggest urban challenges, the Chief Minister said her government has taken decisive steps to resolve issues that remained pending for years due to policy and technical bottlenecks.

Under the revamped PM-UDAY scheme, the government will now regularise colonies on an “as is where is” basis—removing the earlier requirement of layout plan approvals that had significantly delayed the process. This change is expected to accelerate property ownership rights for residents.

Out of the total 1,731 unauthorized colonies in Delhi, around 1,511 colonies will now be brought under the regularisation process. Only colonies located in restricted zones such as ridge areas, protected monuments, and environmentally sensitive regions will remain excluded.

The move is expected to directly benefit nearly 10 lakh families, many of whom have been living without legal property rights despite decades of residence. So far, progress under the earlier framework had been slow, with only around 4,000 conveyance deeds issued due to procedural hurdles.

To simplify the process, the Delhi government has introduced a single-window system. The Revenue Department will now act as the nodal authority, with the Additional District Magistrate (ADM) empowered to grant approvals for all property cases—replacing the earlier multi-level clearance system.

Strict timelines have also been introduced to ensure speed and accountability. GIS surveys will be completed within 7 days, deficiency notices issued within 15 days, and conveyance deeds granted within 45 days.

Applications for ownership rights will begin from April 24, 2026, through the SWAGAT online portal, allowing residents to apply digitally. The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) will issue regularisation certificates, while the Revenue Department will handle ownership documentation.

The government has also assured that infrastructure development in these colonies will now be taken up in a systematic manner, marking a shift from mere legalisation to comprehensive urban improvement.

Calling the initiative a “historic step,” CM Rekha Gupta said the reforms will not only provide legal security to residents but also unlock planned development in large parts of the capital that have remained outside the formal urban framework for decades.

Investigations revealed that after entering the premises, the accused first approached the official vehicle of Assembly Speaker Ram Niwas Goel. He allegedly opened the car door, placed a bouquet and garland inside, and remained in the vehicle for some time.

He later moved towards the Speaker’s office, where he again placed flowers outside before exiting the premises through the same gate.

The unusual actions of the आरोपी have raised questions about intent and possible security gaps, as he was able to remain inside the high-security परिसर for several minutes without immediate interception.

Preliminary inputs suggest that the accused had been missing from his home for several days before the incident. He reportedly travelled from Pilibhit to Bareilly and then to Delhi.

Family members have indicated that he has a history of erratic behaviour and had recently purchased the vehicle used in the breach. They also claimed he often leaves home without informing anyone.

The expressway is designed as a six-lane, access-controlled green highway and is expected to ease congestion in several Delhi areas, including Bhajanpura, by providing smoother connectivity and alternative routes.

One of the key highlights of the project is a 12-km elevated wildlife corridor built over Rajaji National Park, making it one of the largest such corridors in Asia. The design ensures minimal disturbance to wildlife while maintaining high-speed connectivity.

The project, developed by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) at an estimated cost of around ₹12,000 crore, also features advanced infrastructure including AI-enabled CCTV surveillance systems for traffic monitoring and safety enforcement.

Speed limits on the expressway have been set at 80–100 kmph for cars, while heavier vehicles are restricted to 50–60 kmph. Overspeeding will attract automatic e-challans through the intelligent monitoring system.

Toll operations are expected to begin soon, with an estimated cost of around ₹1,000 for a round trip. Annual toll passes will also be applicable for regular users.

Officials say the expressway will not only reduce travel time but also lead to significant savings in fuel consumption and improved road safety. It is expected to benefit tourists traveling to Dehradun and Mussoorie, enabling weekend trips to be completed comfortably within a few hours.
