Delhi Police Cracks ₹1.5 Crore Robbery Case; Six Accused Arrested From J&K After 4,000-km Multi-State Chase

New Delhi, June 23: Delhi Police has solved a sensational ₹1.5 crore cash robbery case, arresting six accused persons and apprehending two juveniles involved in the crime after an extensive investigation that stretched across multiple states and covered nearly 4,000 kilometres.

The breakthrough was achieved through a joint operation conducted by the Special Staff of North District Police, Sarai Rohilla Police Station and the Crime Branch of Delhi Police.

According to police, the victim was transporting a large amount of cash on a scooter when he was intercepted by armed assailants, who allegedly robbed him at gunpoint before fleeing from the spot.

Accused Tracked Across Multiple States

Investigators said the accused remained on the run after the robbery and continuously changed locations to evade arrest.

During the course of the investigation, police tracked the suspects through Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand (Haridwar), Haryana and finally Jammu & Kashmir, where they were ultimately apprehended.

Over 500 CCTV Footages Examined

Delhi Police said the investigation involved the analysis of more than 500 CCTV camera footages, which helped investigators reconstruct the movement of the accused and identify their escape route.

The painstaking analysis enabled police teams to track the suspects over a distance of nearly 4,000 kilometres, eventually leading to their arrest.

Police have recovered:

– ₹1,01,50,000 in cash from the looted amount
– The motorcycle used in the commission of the crime
– The scooter connected to the robbery

Officials described the recovery as a significant breakthrough in the case.

Police are continuing their investigation to establish the complete conspiracy behind the robbery and ascertain whether additional individuals were involved in planning or executing the crime.

Further legal proceedings are underway against the arrested accused, while action under the Juvenile Justice Act is being taken in respect of the two minors apprehended in the case.
