New Delhi, July 2: Delhi Education Minister Ashish Sood has announced that the Delhi Government has initiated the process of constituting School Level Fee Regulation Committees (SLFRCs) in all private unaided schools across the national capital to ensure greater transparency in school fee fixation and prevent arbitrary fee hikes.
Sharing the update on social media platform X, the Minister said the initiative is being implemented under the Delhi School Education (Transparency in Fixation and Regulation of Fees) Act, 2025.
According to the Minister, the move aims to make the process of determining school fees more transparent, accountable and participative.
He said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, parents will now have a greater role in decisions related to fee revisions. Private unaided schools will be required to follow the prescribed regulatory mechanism before increasing fees, ensuring that the interests of students and their families are adequately protected.
The Delhi Government said the newly proposed School Level Fee Regulation Committees (SLFRCs) are intended to strengthen transparency in fee fixation while introducing greater accountability into the decision-making process.
The government also emphasised that the initiative is designed to prevent arbitrary fee increases by ensuring parental participation before any revision in school fees is approved.
Highlighting the objectives of the reform, the Education Minister said the new framework is based on three key principles—transparency in fee regulation, participation of parents and an end to arbitrary fee hikes.
The Delhi Government said the implementation of the Delhi School Education (Transparency in Fixation and Regulation of Fees) Act, 2025 marks a significant step towards protecting the interests of parents while ensuring a fair and transparent fee regulation mechanism in private unaided schools across Delhi.
