Bad Weather Forces Siddaramaiah’s Special Flight to Land in Jaipur Instead of Delhi

Date:

Bengaluru, May 28: Former Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s special flight was forced to land in Jaipur on Thursday evening due to adverse weather conditions in Delhi while he was travelling to the national capital following his resignation from the Chief Minister’s post.

According to sources, the aircraft carrying Siddaramaiah could not land in Delhi because of weather disturbances and was diverted to Jaipur as a precautionary measure.

Several senior Congress leaders and close aides accompanying Siddaramaiah were also on board the special flight.

Those travelling with him included AICC General Secretary and Karnataka in-charge Randeep Singh Surjewala, Karnataka Ministers K.J. George and Byrathi Suresh, legal adviser Ponnanna, MLC Dr. Yathindra Siddaramaiah and AICC Secretary Abhishek Dutt.

Siddaramaiah is expected to hold consultations with senior Congress leadership in Delhi following his resignation as Karnataka Chief Minister earlier in the day.

The political developments in Karnataka have intensified after Siddaramaiah stepped down from office following directions from the Congress high command, paving the way for the election of a new Congress Legislature Party leader.
