CM Rekha Gupta: Paperless Property Registration and Anti-Fraud Measures on the Cards in Delhi

NEW DELHI: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has taken a proactive approach to addressing public grievances by directing district magistrates to hold weekly public hearings. During a recent meeting, she emphasized the importance of resolving issues promptly and submitting reports on development works every 15 days.

In addition to this, Chief Minister Gupta announced plans to launch paperless property registration in Delhi, streamlining the process and eliminating the need for multiple visits to government offices. She also highlighted the government’s efforts to prevent property transaction fraud by releasing a list of non-saleable properties.

During the meeting, Chief Minister Gupta reiterated her government’s commitment to eradicating corruption and emphasized the importance of strict action against irregularities in issuing economically weaker section certificates. She also emphasized the ongoing drive to remove illegal banners and posters from public property.

In a statement following the meeting, Chief Minister Gupta emphasized the government’s focus on public welfare and good governance, stating that the government is dedicated to realizing the vision of a developed Delhi. The meeting with district magistrates covered a range of topics, including administrative performance, service delivery, land disputes, and disaster management preparedness.

Chief Minister Gupta instructed district magistrates to prioritize civic issues such as waterlogging, cleanliness, encroachments, and traffic congestion. She emphasized the importance of regular field inspections and active engagement with citizens to address these issues effectively.

The district magistrates have been tasked with enhancing inspections in slums to guarantee the availability of essential services. They have been mandated to provide updates on the progress of development projects every 15 days.

Furthermore, the chief minister announced plans to enhance the e-District portal for improved user experience and efficiency.

To enhance operational efficiency at district magistrate offices, the chief minister has directed the recruitment of additional technical staff, such as Patwaris, Kanungos, and surveyors.
