MCD Mayor Pravesh Wahi Simplifies Building Regularisation Process for Small Properties in Delhi

Date:

New Delhi, May 27: Delhi Mayor Pravesh Wahi has announced a major relaxation in the building regularisation process for properties up to 105 square metres, removing the mandatory physical inspection requirement by engineers.

The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) said the move is aimed at simplifying administrative procedures and providing relief to citizens facing delays in regularisation of smaller residential buildings.

According to the new system, owners of buildings measuring up to 105 square metres, approximately 127 square yards, will now be able to complete the regularisation process entirely online.

Mayor Pravesh Wahi said property owners will only need to submit an undertaking certified by an authorised architect along with the prescribed fee, after which the MCD will complete the regularisation process within the stipulated timeframe.

He said the decision removes a major hurdle that had caused long-standing procedural complications and unnecessary delays for citizens.

The Mayor stated that the simplified system would help speed up disposal of pending regularisation cases while also improving transparency and reducing administrative burden.

According to MCD officials, the initiative is expected to save time and resources for both citizens and the civic body while simultaneously increasing municipal revenue.

Pravesh Wahi said the BJP-led administration in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi is working under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta to improve civic services and make governance more citizen-friendly.

He added that the objective of the civic administration is to ensure faster resolution of public grievances while making governance simpler, transparent and accessible for Delhi residents.
