Delhi Government Renames Hospitals, Metro Stations and Public Spaces; Rohini Sports Complex to be Known as ‘Atal Khel Parisar’

New Delhi, May 27: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Wednesday announced that the Delhi Government has decided to rename several hospitals, metro stations, chowks and public spaces across the national capital as part of an initiative to give a “new identity” to important public landmarks.

Sharing the update on social media platform X, the Chief Minister said the renaming exercise aims to honour eminent personalities and improve public identification of key locations across Delhi.

As part of the changes, Jwalapuri Hospital will now be known as “Baba Ramdevji Maharaj Hospital.”

Britannia Chowk has been renamed as “Ashwini Chopra (Minna) Chowk.”

The Delhi Government has also approved the renaming of several Metro stations. Rohini West Metro Station will now be called “Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Hospital Metro Station,” while Rohini East Metro Station will be renamed as “Rohini Metro Station.”

Similarly, Dwarka Metro Station will now be known as “Dwarka-Kakrola Metro Station.”

In another major decision, the Begumpur Sports Complex located in Rohini Sector-33 will now officially be called “Atal Khel Parisar.”

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta stated that the renaming decisions reflect the government’s commitment to recognising notable personalities and strengthening the identity of public infrastructure across Delhi.
