India-Pakistan Tensions: DGCA Shuts Down 32 Airports for Civilian Flights Till May 15

NEW DELHI: DGCA has announced the closure of 32 airports for civilian flight operations until May 15 due to the ongoing India-Pakistan military standoff. Among these airports are Srinagar and Amritsar, located in the northern and western regions of the country.

The Airports Authority of India (AAI) and other relevant aviation authorities have issued Notices to Airmen (NOTAMs) regarding the temporary closure of these airports. The closure will be in effect from May 9 to May 14, with operations resuming at 05:29 IST on May 15.

The list of closed airports includes Adhampur, Ambala, Amritsar, Awantipur, Bathinda, Bhuj, Bikaner, Chandigarh, Halwara, Hindon, Jammu, Jaisalmer, Jamnagar, Jodhpur, Kandla, Kangra (Gaggal), Keshod, Kishangarh, Kullu Manali (Bhuntar), and Leh.

Additionally, Ludhiana, Mundra, Naliya, Pathankot, Patiala, Porbandar, Rajkot (Hirasar), Sarsawa, Shimla, Srinagar, Thoise, and Uttarlai have also been closed as per the release from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation.
