NEW DELHI: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta recently conducted a meeting with senior health officials from government hospitals in Delhi to assess their emergency preparedness in light of the ongoing military conflict between India and Pakistan. During the meeting, Gupta emphasized the importance of ensuring that all medical facilities are fully prepared for any potential emergency situations.
She instructed the senior officials to establish fully equipped emergency wards, develop standard operating procedures, conduct mock drills, and stockpile necessary supplies. Gupta stressed the need for hospitals to have adequate staff and medicines to effectively respond to any circumstances that may arise.
In a statement to reporters, Gupta highlighted the importance of hospitals being ready to serve the people in times of crisis. Health Minister Pankaj Singh also confirmed that Delhi government hospitals and staff are well-prepared for emergencies, with reserved beds and necessary equipment available.
Singh reassured the public that all emergency medicines are in stock and that every facility will be provided in case of any eventuality. He emphasized that the government hospitals in Delhi are fully equipped and ready to handle any emergency situation that may arise.
The Delhi government has issued instructions to hospitals in the city to provide top-notch health services to ensure better treatment for patients under the Ayushman Bharat and Vaya Vandana Yojana programs, according to a statement released by the government.

Recognizing the recurring issue of medicine shortages in Delhi government hospitals, Gupta has directed officials to promptly address this problem.
Furthermore, the Delhi Cabinet has approved two significant proposals aimed at improving hospital efficiency and enhancing patient services, as announced by the chief minister.
This meeting marked the first time the chief minister has met with the medical superintendents and directors of Delhi government hospitals.
Last month, the government made changes by transferring the directors and medical superintendents of 26 Delhi government hospitals.
