AAP Hits Back at BJP Over Sisodia ACB Case, Alleges Political Vendetta and ‘Fake Scams’

Date:

New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Friday launched a scathing counterattack on the BJP, accusing it of orchestrating a decade-long political vendetta against AAP leaders through what it termed as over 200 “false cases”. The comments came after former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia appeared before the Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) in connection with an alleged scam related to classroom construction in Delhi government schools.

Addressing a press conference, senior AAP leader and Delhi former Chief Minister Atishi alleged that central agencies including the Enforcement Directorate (ED), Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Income Tax Department and Delhi Police have been “weaponised” against opposition parties by the BJP.

“In the last 10 years, these agencies have filed more than 200 fake cases against AAP leaders. But not even a single rupee has been recovered,” she said, citing the Supreme Court’s recent remarks likening investigative agencies to “caged parrots” during AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal’s bail hearing.

The ACB case pertains to alleged irregularities in the construction of over 12,000 classrooms in Delhi. AAP leader Satyendar Jain was also questioned by the agency on June 6 in the same case.

Atishi further accused the BJP of attempting to deflect attention from civic issues in Delhi. “There are long power cuts, severe water shortages, and waterlogging, but instead of resolving these, the BJP is focused on political distractions,” she said.

She also accused the BJP of working in tandem with the “education mafia” to undermine government schools and promote private institutions. “They want to shut down Delhi’s government schools by alleging fake scams. Just making headlines doesn’t prove corruption,” she stated.
