Waiter Found Dead with Throat Slit in Delhi’s Metro Vihar; Police Probe Underway

Date:

New Delhi: A 30-year-old man was found murdered with his throat slit inside his rented accommodation in Delhi’s Metro Vihar area early Sunday morning, police said.

The deceased, identified as Sunil Mandal, was discovered lying in a pool of blood on the ground floor of House No. A-907 at approximately 7:40 am. Mandal, originally from Darbhanga district in Bihar, was working as a waiter in the national capital, officials confirmed.

A police team immediately cordoned off the area, and a forensic science laboratory (FSL) team was called in to collect evidence and inspect the crime scene. So far, no arrests have been made, and the motive for the killing remains unknown.

“We are examining all angles and speaking to locals and acquaintances. CCTV footage from nearby areas is being scanned,” an officer from the North District Police said, adding that a case of murder has been registered, and further investigation is underway.

The violent nature of the crime has triggered panic among residents in the locality, who have called for increased night patrolling and security presence.
