Five Arrested in Munirka Kidnapping Case; Accused Posed as Delhi Police Officers

Date:

New Delhi: In a swift breakthrough, the Kishangarh police have arrested five individuals involved in a kidnapping and extortion case in which the accused allegedly posed as Delhi Police officers to abduct a man near Munirka in south-west Delhi.

The incident occurred during the night of June 15–16, when the victim was forcibly taken by the accused using a Grand Vitara SUV. The suspects reportedly impersonated police personnel to gain the victim’s trust before abducting him for extortion purposes.

Following the incident, a case was registered under FIR No. 158/2025 at Kishangarh Police Station under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

Utilising technical surveillance and extensive CCTV analysis, police teams were able to track and arrest the following suspects:

  • Parvesh
  • Aryaman Chaudhary
  • Ritik Gauhar
  • Dev Anand Yadav
  • Sharman Rai

The vehicle used in the crime—a Maruti Grand Vitara—was recovered and has been seized as evidence, officials confirmed.

“The accused had planned the kidnapping meticulously, impersonating law enforcement officers to intimidate the victim. Further investigation is underway to determine if they are involved in similar crimes,” a senior police official said.

Authorities are now working to uncover any larger criminal network or repeat offenses linked to the group.
