“No Influence, No Favour”: Delhi CM Rekha Gupta Introduces Lottery-Based GST Postings

Date:

New Delhi: In a significant move aimed at strengthening transparency in governance, the Delhi government has introduced a lottery-based posting system in the GST Department, replacing the earlier recommendation-driven process.

Sharing the update on social media platform X, the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) stated that the new system ensures fairness and eliminates scope for influence or favouritism in postings.

Under the initiative, 87 GST officers were allotted their respective wards through a self-drawn lottery system. The process was conducted in full public view at the department’s conference hall, ensuring complete transparency.

Senior officials, including the Commissioner, Special Commissioner, Joint Commissioner, and Assistant Commissioner, were present during the exercise.

The move is being seen as a key administrative reform aimed at setting a new benchmark in transparent and accountable governance in Delhi.
