New Delhi: Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) Commissioner Sanjeev Khirwar inaugurated a Fixed Compactor Transfer Station (FCTS) at Panchkuiyan Road and carried out a comprehensive inspection of civic infrastructure in the Karol Bagh Zone on April 27, 2026.
The inspection was conducted in the presence of Deputy Commissioner Dilkhush Meena, Engineer-in-Chief P.C. Meena, and other senior officials, with a focus on reviewing sanitation systems, ongoing civic works, and preparedness for the upcoming monsoon season.
The newly inaugurated FCTS facility, launched alongside area Councillor Manish Chaddha, is aimed at improving the efficiency of waste collection and transportation, strengthening MCD’s efforts toward modern and sustainable waste management.
During the visit, the Commissioner reviewed desilting operations of key drains, including the Dariyayi Drain and the DTC Drain leading to the Naraina Industrial Area. He also assessed the condition of interconnected drainage networks to ensure they are equipped to handle monsoon challenges.
Khirwar further inspected the Material Recovery Facility (MRF) Centre at Jakhira, evaluating waste segregation and processing practices. He also reviewed the progress of legacy waste removal at Naraina Vihar Halt and Zakhira Point, along with sanitation work along railway tracks where MCD teams are actively clearing accumulated garbage.
Emphasising the need for consistent monitoring, the Commissioner directed officials to ensure timely clearance of waste and prevent re-accumulation, particularly in critical zones.
Highlighting the importance of efficient execution and maintenance, Khirwar instructed officials to accelerate ongoing projects and maintain high standards of cleanliness.
The inspection reflects MCD’s continued efforts to enhance urban sanitation infrastructure and ensure that the city remains clean, resilient, and prepared for the monsoon season.
