New Delhi: A sudden change in weather conditions swept across Delhi-NCR, as strong winds accompanied by a dust storm plunged parts of the region into near-darkness during the day, significantly reducing visibility and disrupting normal life.
According to reports, areas including Noida witnessed intense dust-laden winds, with visuals from Sector 94 showing a hazy sky and sharply reduced visibility. The sudden weather shift impacted vehicular movement, with commuters facing difficulties due to poor road visibility and strong gusts.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) stated that wind speeds reached up to 40–50 kmph during the storm. The high-speed winds not only affected traffic flow but also raised safety concerns in several parts of the city.
On the positive side, the sudden weather activity led to a drop in temperature by around 2 to 3 degrees Celsius, offering temporary relief from the ongoing heatwave conditions.
Authorities have advised residents to remain cautious during such weather fluctuations, avoid unnecessary travel during dust storms, and stay updated with official weather alerts.
