MCD Attaches Seven Sun Motel Property in Narela Over ₹2.90 Crore Property Tax Dues

Date:

New Delhi: The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has attached the property of Seven Sun Motel located in Village Puth Khurd under the Narela Zone for non-payment of outstanding property tax dues amounting to approximately ₹2.90 crore.

The enforcement action was carried out by the Assessment and Collection Department (Headquarters) under Section 156A of the Delhi Municipal Corporation (DMC) Act, with assistance from police personnel to ensure smooth execution of proceedings.

According to officials, the outstanding dues were initially raised in December last year. The taxpayer was issued multiple recovery notices under Sections 154(1), 156, and 446 of the DMC Act, 1957, providing adequate opportunity to clear the dues before coercive measures were initiated.

The civic body reiterated that attachment is undertaken only as a last resort after repeated notices and non-compliance. MCD officials emphasized that timely payment of property tax is essential for maintaining civic services and infrastructure across the city, and strict enforcement will continue against defaulters.
