The seizure was made by the Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) following spot profiling at Terminal-3. The passengers arrived on Thai Airways flight TG-315 from Bangkok on January 14, 2026 (scheduled departure dated January 13, 2026).

Officials assessed the international market value of the seized narcotics at approximately ₹8.771 crore.

Following the seizure, Customs authorities concluded that the accused had violated Section 8 of the NDPS Act, 1985, with offences punishable under Sections 20, 23, and 29 of the Act. Both passengers were arrested on January 14, 2026 under Section 43(B) of the NDPS Act.

The narcotic substance along with the packaging materials was formally seized under Section 43(A) of the NDPS Act.
