New Delhi: The installation of a state-of-the-art digital conference and networking system under the National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA) is progressing rapidly at the Delhi Assembly, according to a statement released on Tuesday.
Speaker Vijender Gupta visited the Assembly premises to assess the ongoing work. He underscored the significance of integrating modern technology into legislative processes and reaffirmed the Assembly Secretariat’s commitment to enhancing the efficiency, transparency, and citizen-friendliness of Delhi’s legislative operations.
The new system features smart delegate units equipped with microphones, voting panels, and advanced radio frequency identification (RFID) and near-field communication (NFC) access. Additionally, it offers multilingual interpretation support and iPads for members to access agendas and documents in real time. The installation also includes automated audio-visual systems with high-definition cameras and centralized control, along with a robust and secure networking setup that includes power backup.

The Assembly is implementing the NeVA initiative to promote transparency, efficiency, and paperless governance, with the system expected to be operational ahead of the upcoming Monsoon session.
“The renovation and modernization of the Assembly are progressing swiftly,” Gupta stated during his inspection. He was briefed on the extensive efforts being made to upgrade the Assembly’s infrastructure, particularly in light of the ongoing implementation of NeVA.
The work aims to install cutting-edge systems that will significantly enhance the functioning of the House, with a complete transition to a paperless mode anticipated by the next Monsoon Session under the NeVA initiative.
