New Delhi, June 9: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta chaired a high-level meeting at the Delhi Secretariat to review issues concerning villages and colonies located within the O-Zone area of the national capital.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister directed the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) to act in accordance with the orders of the Hon’ble Delhi High Court regarding matters related to the O-Zone region.
To address concerns raised by residents and eliminate confusion surrounding the status of properties and settlements in the area, the Chief Minister instructed officials to take necessary steps for revising the language used on signboards installed across the O-Zone. The proposed changes will be carried out after obtaining appropriate recommendations and approvals from the Court.
Officials said the objective is to ensure greater clarity, transparency and better communication with residents, while preventing any misunderstanding arising from existing signage and notices in the area.
The meeting focused on issues affecting villages and colonies situated within the environmentally sensitive O-Zone region along the Yamuna floodplain, where development regulations and legal restrictions have often led to concerns among local residents.
The Chief Minister emphasized the need for a balanced approach that respects judicial directives while addressing the concerns of citizens living in the affected areas.
The review meeting was attended by South Delhi MP Ramvir Singh Bidhuri, North East Delhi MP Manoj Tiwari, Yamunapar Development Board Chairman and MLA Arvinder Singh Lovely, along with senior officials from the Delhi Development Authority and other concerned departments.
Officials said further consultations and coordination with relevant agencies will continue to ensure compliance with court orders while safeguarding the interests of residents living in O-Zone villages and colonies.
