New Delhi: A sensational murder case in Delhi’s Dwarka district has shocked residents after the body of a 22-year-old woman named Rupa was recovered from a sack dumped under a vehicle near a drain in the Dabri police station area. The body, discovered on Sunday, August 23, was sent to Deen Dayal Hospital for postmortem, while police launched a high-level investigation.
Missing Since August 21
Police confirmed that Rupa had been missing since August 21, and her family had lodged a complaint after she failed to return home. According to her father, she had gone out at night to buy buttermilk but never returned. The family searched extensively until they were informed about a body found near a drain, which was later identified as Rupa.

Accused Salim Arrested
Police have arrested Salim, a youth from Hardoi, in connection with the case. Investigators allege that Salim owed money to Rupa and when she demanded repayment, he killed her. However, Rupa’s family strongly denied this version, insisting that she was not involved in any financial dealings and accusing police of not presenting the full truth.
The family further alleged that it was impossible for a single person to carry out the murder and claimed that more people may have been involved.
Family’s Demand for Justice
Rupa’s family members, present at the police station, demanded that Salim be brought before them and questioned whether their daughter even knew him personally. They maintained that she was a homemaker and not engaged in any outside job.
Police Investigation Ongoing
The Dwarka District Police has detained several suspects and is continuing interrogations to determine if others were involved. Senior officials assured that a detailed probe is underway and that every aspect of the case—including motive, possible accomplices, and the circumstances of the murder—will be thoroughly investigated.
