Delhi Encounter: Notorious Criminals Raju and Ravi Nabbed After Late-Night Gunfight in Keshavpuram

Date:

New Delhi: A dramatic police encounter in Delhi’s Keshavpuram area late last night led to the arrest of two notorious criminals, bringing relief to residents troubled by rising cases of theft, chain-snatching, and illegal arms possession.

According to police, the incident occurred near a banquet hall in Keshavpuram when teams from the local police station and the Anti-Crime Branch (ACB) attempted to intercept two suspects. Instead of surrendering, the miscreants opened fire at a police constable. The officer narrowly escaped unhurt.

One Criminal Injured in Exchange of Fire

In the retaliatory firing, one accused sustained a bullet injury to his leg while the other was captured unharmed. Both were taken into custody after a brief chase.

The arrested men have been identified as Raju alias Raju Kangaroo and Ravi Gothotia, each facing over a dozen cases including theft, robbery, chain-snatching, and charges under the Arms Act. Police officials confirmed that the two had been on the run for a long time and were responsible for several incidents of crime across Delhi.

Long-Hunted Gangsters Finally Caught

Police said the duo had created fear in the Keshavpuram area with repeated cases of snatching and armed theft. Acting on a tip-off about their movement, officers laid a trap and managed to corner them despite the attempted attack on police personnel.

A senior officer stated, “The arrest of these two habitual offenders is a major success. Their capture will significantly reduce street crimes in the area.”

Both accused are now undergoing interrogation, and further recoveries of illegal weapons and stolen items are expected.
