Delhi Crime Branch Busts Interstate Drug Syndicate, ₹5 Crore Cocaine Seized; Two Arrested

Date:

New Delhi: In a major breakthrough against narcotics trafficking, the Inter State Cell (ISC) of Delhi Police Crime Branch has busted a Bareilly-based interstate drug syndicate, seizing around 0.5 kg of high-quality cocaine (crank) worth ₹5 crore being supplied across Delhi and the NCR region.

The operation was conducted by a dedicated ISC team led by Inspector Satendra Khari, along with SI Sandeep, SI Vineet Pratap Singh, SI Amit, SI Arjun, ASI Randhir Singh, HC Sanoj, and Constable Vikash, under the close supervision of ACP Ramesh Lamba.

How the Operation Unfolded

Acting on specific intelligence inputs, the police team on April 10, 2026, apprehended Javed Hussain (29) from the Gazipur Roundabout in Delhi. During the search, 456 grams of high-grade cocaine was recovered from his possession.

Following the seizure, FIR No. 80/2026 under Section 21 of the NDPS Act was registered at the Crime Branch police station, and further investigation was initiated.

Supplier Traced to Bareilly

During sustained interrogation, Javed revealed that the contraband had been sourced from Soib Khan (25), a resident of Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh. Acting on this lead, the Crime Branch secured police custody remand and conducted a follow-up raid in Bareilly on April 22, 2026, with assistance from local police.

The operation led to the arrest of Soib Khan from his residence in Village Kyona Shadipur, PS Bhamora, Bareilly district.

Profile of the Accused

  • Javed Hussain (29): Illiterate, employed at a jeans factory in North-East Delhi; no previous criminal record found
  • Soib Khan (25): Illiterate, resident of Bareilly; no prior criminal history reported

Ongoing Investigation

Soib Khan is currently in police custody remand, and further raids are underway to track down other members of the syndicate and recover additional contraband.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch) Aditya Gautam stated that the crackdown is part of sustained efforts to dismantle interstate drug networks and curb the flow of narcotics into the national capital.

The operation underscores Delhi Police’s continued focus on targeting supply chains and eliminating organized drug trafficking networks operating across state borders.
