New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested a Head Constable of the Anti Narcotics Cell, Delhi Police, Dwarka, for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of ₹2 lakh from a complainant.

According to the CBI, the case was registered on April 21, 2026, against the accused and other unknown persons following a complaint. It was alleged that the Head Constable had demanded a total bribe of ₹15 lakh to avoid falsely implicating the complainant in a case.

The accused had reportedly instructed the complainant to deliver a part payment of ₹5 lakh. Acting on the complaint, the CBI laid a trap on April 21 and caught the Head Constable red-handed while accepting ₹2 lakh as part payment of the bribe.

The CBI stated that further investigation in the matter is ongoing. The agency reiterated its commitment to taking strict action against corrupt public servants and urged citizens to report any instances of bribery or corruption.
