IRS Officer’s Daughter Found Dead in Amar Colony; Ex-Domestic Help Suspected

New Delhi: A 22-year-old woman, daughter of a senior IRS officer, was found dead under suspicious circumstances at her residence in Amar Colony area of Southeast Delhi, triggering a major police investigation.

According to Delhi Police, initial findings suggest that the victim may have been sexually assaulted and later murdered. Investigators suspect that a mobile phone charging cable was used to strangle her.

The incident came to light when the woman’s body was discovered inside the house while her parents were reportedly out for a morning walk. The scene indicated signs of violence, and forensic teams were immediately called in to collect evidence.

Police have identified a recently dismissed domestic help as the prime suspect. The individual, who had been removed from service about a month ago, is currently absconding.

A team from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) has examined the spot, and further investigation is underway to establish the exact sequence of events and confirm the motive.

The case has raised fresh concerns over safety and law-and-order in the national capital.
