Delhi BMW Crash FIR: Finance Ministry Officer’s Wife Says Pleas for Nearby Hospital Ignored, Taken 19 km Away Instead

Date:

New Delhi: Fresh revelations from the Delhi BMW crash FIR have intensified the controversy around the tragic accident that killed Finance Ministry Deputy Secretary Navjot Singh and left his wife Sandeep Kaur critically injured.

According to details accessed, the FIR records that Sandeep Kaur pleaded with the accused driver, Gagandeep Makkar, to take them to a nearby hospital immediately after the collision at Dhaula Kuan. Instead, the accused allegedly loaded the victims into a delivery van and drove nearly 19 km away to a hospital in North Delhi.

FIR Testimony

Sandeep Kaur, who underwent emergency surgery, stated that despite regaining partial consciousness and requesting treatment at a closer medical facility such as AIIMS or Safdarjung, her pleas were ignored. Instead, the accused couple took them to a relatively smaller hospital linked to their acquaintances.

Navnoor Singh, the victims’ son, also alleged that his father was left unattended in the van’s cargo area, while his mother sat conscious in the passenger seat, begging for immediate medical care. By the time they reached GTB Nagar hospital, Navjot Singh was declared dead, while his wife was admitted in critical condition.

Police Action & Legal Charges

Delhi Police confirmed that the FIR now includes sections for death by negligence and destruction of evidence, citing attempts to mislead and delay proper treatment. Investigators believe the accused may have intentionally disrupted the chain of evidence by not informing authorities in time and by diverting the victims to a distant hospital.

The accused driver Gagandeep Makkar and her husband, who sustained minor injuries, remain admitted in hospital under police watch. Police have already seized the BMW luxury car, which was found mangled at the crash site, and are examining CCTV footage and forensic reports.

Family’s Allegations

The victim’s family has accused the accused couple of criminal negligence amounting to murder, claiming that instead of rushing the injured to nearby world-class hospitals, they deliberately chose a facility nearly 20 km away, costing precious time.

“This wasn’t just an accident—it became murder by negligence afterwards,” the family alleged, demanding strict accountability and fair investigation.

Investigation Continues

Police sources said call records, CCTV footage, and GPS data of the BMW and the van are being analyzed to determine intent. Forensic teams are also probing whether the victims were deliberately taken to a hospital with prior links to the accused.
