Padhan's role within the network involved routing marijuana, locally known as ‘Kanchan’, to various locations across India. Describing it as similar to a viral infection, the chief minister remarked, "Just as colds and coughs occur, COVID-19 has also become a seasonal virus." She further urged the public not to panic or be concerned, asserting, "Our hospitals are prepared, and the situation is under control." Official statistics indicate that the national capital has recorded 104 active Covid cases to date.
