New Delhi: As the national capital surpasses 100 active COVID-19 cases, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta stated on Tuesday that the situation remains manageable and likened the virus to seasonal influenza.
“Covid is not an emergency or a cause for alarm,” Gupta informed reporters during an event here.
Describing it as similar to a viral infection, the chief minister remarked, “Just as colds and coughs occur, COVID-19 has also become a seasonal virus.” She further urged the public not to panic or be concerned, asserting, “Our hospitals are prepared, and the situation is under control.” Official statistics indicate that the national capital has recorded 104 active Covid cases to date.
Last week, the Delhi government released a COVID-19 advisory, urging hospitals to ensure the availability of beds, oxygen, medications, and vaccines.
