NEW DELHI: Vasanti Oka, the beloved mother of Supreme Court Justice Abhay Oka, passed away due to health complications, as confirmed by family sources on Thursday. She was 88 years old.
Vasanti Oka passed away on Wednesday night, and her funeral took place in Thane on Thursday morning.
According to family members, her health had been deteriorating, and she had been hospitalized a few weeks prior to her passing. She is survived by her two sons: Justice Abhay Oka and Dr. Ajit Oka, a practicing dentist.
Justice Abhay Oka is scheduled to retire from the Supreme Court on May 24.
