Delhi Home Minister Warns of Action Against Those Supporting Infiltrators

Date:

NEW DELHI: The BJP government in Delhi is committed to preventing infiltrators from residing in the city and will take action against those who have provided them with overground support, stated Delhi Home Minister Ashish Sood on Thursday.

Addressing the Assembly, Minister Sood emphasized that the resources of Delhi are meant for its lawful residents, not for those who have settled in the city illegally. During the recent election campaign, the BJP accused the AAP of aiding illegal Bangladeshi and Rohingya immigrants in finding shelter in Delhi.

“We will not tolerate any illegal infiltrators in Delhi,” Minister Sood declared, announcing that the Delhi government will assume control of the detention center in Lampur, where illegal immigrants are held before deportation.

Furthermore, individuals who have facilitated illegal infiltrators by assisting them in obtaining documents such as Aadhaar cards, ration cards, and rented accommodations will face consequences. Minister Sood assured that the government will introduce appropriate measures to address this issue.

Discussing the budget for 2025-26 presented in the Assembly earlier this week, Minister Sood revealed plans to construct a high-security jail complex in Narela. He criticized the previous AAP government for allegedly allocating a significant portion of funds to publicity rather than essential projects.

The BJP government is actively working to implement its budget proposals and aims to transform Delhi into a developed and secure city, Minister Sood concluded.
