New Delhi, June 27: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has issued a one-month deadline for coaching institutes across the national capital to fully comply with mandatory fire safety norms, warning that institutions failing to do so will face strict action, including sealing.
In a post on X, the Chief Minister said the number of coaching centres operating in Delhi was not the government’s concern, but ensuring the safety and security of students was.
“One month. That is the deadline. The number of coaching institutes in Delhi is not the issue. The safety and security of our children is,” Gupta said.
She warned that any coaching institute operating without a fire audit, mandatory safety equipment or prescribed safety measures would face stringent action if deficiencies are not rectified within the stipulated period.
The Chief Minister also appealed to students to actively report unsafe coaching institutes through messages, emails or phone calls, assuring that every complaint would be acted upon.
“No compromise with the safety of our children,” she said.
