Rohini Police Arrest Three After Man Stabbed Over ₹700 Demand in Begumpur

New Delhi: Rohini Police arrested three men in connection with the fatal stabbing of a man who intervened in a dispute allegedly arising from a demand for ₹700 in the Begumpur area, police said.

According to police, the incident took place on Bharat Vihar Road on August 9, 2026, when Sachin alias Sagar, described by police as a listed bad character with 10 previous cases, allegedly demanded ₹700. Mukesh Yadav was stabbed while trying to save his brother Satish, police said.

Mukesh later died at AIIMS at 2.18 am on August 10, according to the police account.

Police said an operation was launched following the incident and three accused were apprehended from an OYO property and a lodge within about two hours. A knife, a mobile phone and bloodstained clothes were recovered, police said.

The arrested accused were identified as Sachin alias Sagar, 29, an e-rickshaw driver; Pankaj alias Bhura, 23, also an e-rickshaw driver; and Abhishek alias Atal, 22, an autorickshaw driver. Police said Sachin is a listed bad character of Begumpur and has 10 previous theft cases.

The operation was carried out under the supervision of Additional DCP Satish Kumar by a team comprising Inspector Pramod, SIs Jagdeep Sandhu and Sudhanshu, head constables Pradeep and Rahul, and constables Satish, Dharmender, Arun and Parveen.

Police said further investigation into the case is underway.
