Shahbad Dairy Arms Arrest Leads Police to Robbery Case; Cash, ID Documents Recovered

New Delhi: An arrest over an illegal firearm at Shahbad Dairy has led police to a separate robbery investigation, with cash and the complainant’s identity documents recovered, according to Delhi Police’s Outer North District.

Police said Shivam, alias Pawwa, 19, was apprehended near Panch Mandir on open land at Prahlad Vihar, Sector 25, Rohini, on October 1 after a patrolling team received information about a person carrying an illegal weapon.

He allegedly tried to flee when he saw the team. A country-made pistol and two live rounds were recovered during his search, police said.

Arms Act investigation linked to earlier robbery FIR

Shahbad Dairy police registered FIR No. 634/2026 under Sections 25/54/59 of the Arms Act and began an investigation.

During questioning, police said, the accused disclosed alleged involvement with associates in the robbery case registered as FIR No. 622/2026 under Sections 309(4), 311, 317(2) and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

Police said the investigation led to the recovery of the complainant’s original PAN card, a copy of the Aadhaar card and robbed money. The statement did not specify the amount of cash recovered. Officers are verifying the articles and linking them with evidence in the robbery case.

Search for associates continues

Investigators are working to establish the accused’s complete role in the robbery and identify, trace and apprehend his alleged associates. They are also examining the source and possible use of the firearm, police said.

The district police said Shivam had two previous involvements in Arms Act cases. The statement did not provide the outcomes of those cases.

Shahbad Dairy team carried out operation

The operation was led by Inspector Surender Singh, SHO of Shahbad Dairy police station, with Head Constables Neeraj and Piplad and Constables Sahil and Prince.

Police said the team worked under directions from Joint Commissioner of Police, Northern Range, Vijay Kumar, the guidance of Additional DCP-I, Outer North District, Lokeshwaran R., and the supervision of ACP Bawana Gaurav Singh. Further investigation is underway.
