Mangolpuri Murder Shocker: DU Student Among 5 Arrested, Victim Chased 500 Metres and Stabbed 15 Times

Date:

New Delhi: The Delhi Police Crime Branch, along with district police teams, has arrested five accused, including a student of University of Delhi, in connection with the brutal stabbing murder of Akash in Mangolpuri.

According to police officials, the accused include three juveniles and two adults. Two suspects, including one minor, were apprehended by the Crime Branch, while the remaining three—two of them juveniles—were arrested by the district police. Among the arrested adults is Mohit, identified as a Delhi University student.

Investigations revealed that the murder was carried out due to an old personal rivalry. The accused allegedly chased Akash for nearly half a kilometre before attacking him. Police said the victim was stabbed around 15 times with knives, leaving him with fatal injuries.

During the investigation, police also recovered a blood-stained knife, believed to be one of the weapons used in the crime. The arrests were made following sustained technical surveillance and field investigations.

Officials stated that further legal procedures are underway, and the role of each accused—including the juveniles—is being examined in accordance with law. Police have reiterated that strict action will be taken against all those involved in the killing.
