New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has launched a registration portal for the PM Surya Ghar–Muft Bijli Yojana, saying residents can register for rooftop solar systems of up to 3 kW without bearing installation costs.
Gupta said in a post on X on September 21 that for systems above 3 kW, the Union government and the Delhi government would each provide assistance of ₹78,000, taking the total subsidy to as much as ₹1.56 lakh. Residents were directed to register through solar.delhi.gov.in.
The Chief Minister said the Delhi government aims to connect 2.30 lakh homes with solar energy by March 2027. She urged residents to register and make full use of the scheme.
Gupta said the initiative was intended to help households generate electricity and reduce power expenses under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Delhi minister Ashish Sood and officials of the departments concerned were present at the portal launch, according to the Chief Minister’s post.
