New Delhi: The Cyber Police Station of Delhi Police’s Dwarka district has busted a fake call centre operating from Indore, Madhya Pradesh, and arrested six persons allegedly involved in an online investment fraud worth ₹54.70 lakh.
According to Delhi Police, the accused allegedly lured victims by promising attractive investment returns and cheated multiple people through fraudulent investment schemes.
In one case, the complainant invested ₹17.30 lakh after being assured of high returns. The fraud came to light when the victim was unable to withdraw the invested amount.
Acting on technical surveillance and investigation, the police traced the operation to a call centre in Indore and conducted a raid, leading to the arrest of all six accused.
During the operation, police seized 25 mobile phones, 28 CPUs, two Wi-Fi routers and one CCTV camera from the premises.
Delhi Police said further investigation is underway to identify other victims, trace the financial trail and determine the wider network involved in the cyber fraud.
