Delhi Police Bust Interstate Fake Investment Scam Network, Arrest 9; ₹15.71 Crore Suspicious Fraud Links Uncovered

Delhi: The Cyber Police Station team of Delhi Police’s South West district has busted an interstate network allegedly involved in cheating people through fake investment platforms and arrested nine accused, police said.

According to Delhi Police, the accused allegedly added victims to fake WhatsApp investment groups and induced them to invest through fraudulent trading applications. The investments were then used to carry out the alleged cheating.

Police said the cyber team analysed financial transaction trails and digital evidence before conducting simultaneous operations in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Kerala and Punjab, leading to the arrest of the nine accused.

The investigation also uncovered links between bank accounts associated with the network and 34 complaints registered on the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal (NCRP), police said. Suspicious fraudulent transactions of more than ₹15.71 crore were also identified.

Delhi Police said the probe further revealed foreign links connected to Qatar and Dubai.

During the operation, police recovered eight mobile phones, banking records, Know Your Customer (KYC) documents, bank-related information and other digital evidence.

Further details about the alleged network, the individual roles of the arrested accused and the investigation into the financial and overseas links were not provided in the information released by police.
