Malviya Nagar Park Gets New Shaheed Bhagat Singh Statue on Shaheed Diwas

Date:

NEW DELHI: On the occasion of Shaheed Diwas, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta unveiled a new statue of Shaheed Bhagat Singh at Malviya Nagar Park, replacing the previously damaged one. Members of Parliament Bansuri Swaraj and local legislator Satish Upadhyay, along with other residents, were also present at the event.

Just a few days ago, a miscreant had vandalized the statue, sparking questions about why it wasn’t repaired sooner and why a new statue wasn’t installed. The Bharatiya Janata Party had criticized the then Aam Aadmi Party government for this. Satish Upadhyay had promised that once a government like the Bharatiya Janata Party came into power, the statue would be unveiled and a new one would be installed. Local residents are pleased that this promise has been fulfilled.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, along with Members of Parliament Bansuri Swaraj and legislator Satish Upadhyay, were seen garlanding the statue of Shaheed Bhagat Singh with flowers in hand.
