New Delhi: The Delhi Traffic Police has issued a traffic advisory for the period between September 22 and October 3 in view of the upcoming Ramleela and Dussehra celebrations at the Red Fort grounds. With popular Ramleela performances by Lavkush, Navshri Dharmik and Shri Dharmik committees expected to draw large crowds, commuters have been cautioned about diversions and congestion in the area.
According to the advisory, from 5:00 pm until late night each day, all commercial vehicles and DTC buses will be diverted from Netaji Subhash Marg to alternative routes via Delhi Gate, Daryaganj, and Chatta Rail Chowk.
Police have urged devotees and daily commuters to avoid routes near the Red Fort to ensure smooth movement and minimize delays. Extra personnel will be deployed to manage traffic flow and facilitate safe pedestrian movement during the festive season.
The advisory is part of Delhi Police’s traffic management plan to handle the massive footfall and ensure that both devotees and travelers face minimum disruption.
