New Delhi: A fresh political flashpoint erupted in Delhi after AAP MLA Mukesh Ahlawat accused the administration of illegally evicting him from his allotted government office and “harassing elected representatives of the Aam Aadmi Party.” The Delhi Police and department officials reached his office on Tuesday, prompting a sharp protest from the MLA.
Ahlawat claimed that his office was officially allotted to him on June 25, 2025 for a full five-year term, and that the Assembly Speaker’s notification also permits newly elected MLAs to continue using previously allotted government offices.
Despite this, he said, the department issued an eviction order dated November 7, but he received it only on November 13 — prompting him to immediately move court on November 14.
He further alleged that while the eviction notice mandates 15 days’ time, officials reached “much earlier”, calling it “dictatorship and intimidation.”

“This is harassment of AAP MLAs” — Ahlawat
Ahlawat said officials were deliberately disrupting public service work:
“They want to stop the work done for poor and Dalit families in my constituency. They could not defeat me electorally, so they are troubling me now. But I will not be moved. The more they harass me, the more work I will do.”
He alleged that the move was politically motivated, adding:
“The BJP doesn’t want AAP MLAs to work. We follow Babasaheb Ambedkar and Bhagat Singh. We work for people. You can try to stop us, but we will work 10 times more.”
‘Plenty of empty government rooms, yet only AAP MLA targeted’
Ahlawat claimed the government’s explanation — that departments have no rooms left — is “false.”
According to him:
- Sector-22 government buildings have two entire blocks empty.
- One building allegedly has 19 vacant rooms, another 18 vacant rooms.
- Yet only his office has been targeted.
AAP funds blocked, BJP MLAs favoured?
The MLA also alleged discrimination in fund distribution:
“CMDF (Chief Minister’s Development Fund) money is being given only to BJP MLAs. AAP MLAs are being denied funds. Even hospital construction work has been stalled.”
He said several hospitals approved under Arvind Kejriwal’s tenure are now on hold, affecting public health services:
“People call me every day begging for hospital beds. If hospitals were completed, so many lives would benefit.”
Ahlawat’s allegation on ‘Modi Ka Ghar’ scheme
Responding to claims that funds were withheld from AAP MLAs under the “Modi Ka Ghar” initiative, he said:
“This is clear bias. Competitiveness should be in work, not in obstructing public welfare.”
