BJP to Take on Karnataka Government’s Muslim Reservation Proposal in Court, Assembly, and Parliament

Date:

NEW DELHI: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has strongly criticized the Karnataka government’s proposal to provide 4% reservation to Muslims in government contracts, labeling it as an unconstitutional misadventure. The BJP has vowed to oppose this move at all levels and is prepared to challenge it in court until it is reversed.

The Cabinet recently approved an amendment to the Karnataka Transparency in Public Procurements (KTPP) Act, which reserves 4% of contracts in civil works valued up to Rs 2 crore and goods/services contracts up to Rs 1 crore for Muslims.

BJP MP Tejasvi Surya, representing Bangalore South Lok Sabha seat, has voiced the party’s opposition to the unconstitutional proposal and has called for an immediate rollback by the Siddaramaiah government. He has accused the government of attempting to appease Muslims under the direction of Congress leadership, particularly Rahul Gandhi.

Surya has declared that the BJP will challenge this unconstitutional act in court, oppose it in the assembly, on the streets, and in Parliament. He has stressed that the move poses a threat to national integrity, unity, and sovereignty.

The BJP MP has affirmed that the party will persist in its fight until the unconstitutional proposal is withdrawn, pledging to take the battle to the people of Karnataka and uphold the rule of law.
