Delhi’s Mangolpuri councillor Suman Tinku Rajora Returns to AAP, Calls Move to BJP Her ‘Biggest Mistake’

Date:

New Delhi: Suman Tinku Rajora, the expelled BJP councillor from Delhi’s Mangolpuri Ward 50B, has rejoined the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), calling her earlier move to the Bharatiya Janata Party “the biggest mistake” of her life.

Rajora, who joined the BJP earlier this year, was expelled last month for six years over alleged “anti-party activities”. On Tuesday, she returned to AAP with her husband Tinku Rajora and was welcomed by AAP’s Delhi State President and Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj, who symbolically presented her with the party cap and scarf.

“This is a proud moment for us,” said MCD Leader of Opposition Ankush Narang. “Her return reinforces the fact that AAP continues to be the voice of Delhi’s underprivileged.”

Expressing deep regret over her brief stint with the BJP, Rajora said, “I feel relieved after returning home. Joining the BJP was my life’s biggest mistake. They betrayed the people living in jhuggis, demolishing their homes despite promises of ‘Jahan jhuggi, wahan makaan’.”

Rajora also said that she found “some peace” when she voted in favour of the AAP candidate during the MCD Chairman’s election. “The BJP doesn’t support the poor; they want to erase them. I’m proud to be back with a party that stands by its word — and with Arvind Kejriwal who speaks for the people.”
