Over 71,000 seats on offer across 69 colleges; admissions based on CUET scores
New Delhi: Delhi University on Tuesday launched its Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) portal for undergraduate admissions for the academic year 2025-26, officially kickstarting the registration process.
Announcing the development, DU Dean of Academics Prof. Haneet Gandhi said the university is offering 79 undergraduate programmes across 69 colleges, with a total of 71,624 seats available.
“All UG admissions this year will be based on CUET (Common University Entrance Test) scores,” Gandhi said at a press conference.

In a push for skill-oriented learning, the university has also opened admissions through its Centre for Innovative Skill-based Courses (CISBC). These include short-term programmes in AC-refrigerator repair, animation and motion graphics, and bakery and confectionery.
DU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Yogesh Singh also announced the launch of two new postgraduate programmes — MA in Tourism Management with 50 seats, and MA in Hindi Journalism.

UG Admission in Two Phases
- Phase 1: Already underway, students are required to register on the CSAS portal by providing personal details, Class 12 marks, and their CUET application number.
- Phase 2: Will begin after CUET results are declared, during which students can fill their course and college preferences.
To assist applicants in making informed choices, the university will release simulated ranks before finalizing seat allotments. The final allocation will be based on programme-specific merit, candidate preferences, and seat availability.
Students and parents can access the CSAS portal via the official DU admissions website.
